- Chocolate: I prefer to use Hershey’s milk chocolate bars, but you can use chocolate chips if you prefer.
- Peanut butter cups: Alternating peanut butter cups and chocolate pieces elevates the dip with pockets of delicious creamy peanut butter.
- Reese’s Pieces: These little candy-coated bits add a crunchy texture.
- Marshmallows: You can use homemade marshmallows or a bag of regular-size store-bought marshmallows.
- Topping: Drizzle some chocolate sauce and melted peanut butter over the top to finish off the dip.
- Graham crackers: For dipping!
How to Make Chocolate Peanut Butter S’mores Dip
This section shows you how to make the recipe with step-by-step photos and instructions. For the full printable recipe, see the recipe card below.
- Add chocolate and peanut butter cups: Line the bottom of a cast-iron skillet or baking dish with a layer of aluminum foil. Place a single layer of chocolate bars and peanut butter cups on the bottom. Break apart any larger pieces to fill up the spaces as much as possible.
- Top with Reese’s Pieces: Sprinkle the Reese’s Pieces on top so they fall into the nooks and crannies between the chocolate bars and peanut butter cups.
- Cover with marshmallows: Arrange the marshmallows on top, making sure to fit them as tightly together as possible. They will expand, so don’t worry if there is some space at the end.
- Bake until melty: Place the skillet in a preheated 375-degree oven and bake it for about 15 minutes. Once the marshmallows are golden brown, take the skillet out of the oven.
- Garnish and serve: Let your indoor s’mores dip cool slightly and serve it while it’s still warm. It’s hard to dip once the chocolate starts to solidify. Drizzle with chocolate sauce and melted peanut butter, and enjoy with a stack of Graham crackers for dipping.
Pro Tip:
To thin peanut butter to drizzle over the top of the dip, melt about ½ cup of peanut butter in a microwave-safe bowl for 20–30 seconds.
Storage
Refrigerator: This chocolate peanut butter dip is best eaten the day it’s made. However, if you have leftovers you want to save, keep them covered in an airtight container in the fridge for up to 2 days.
How to Reheat: Reheat the dip in an ovenproof skillet on medium-low heat. If it’s a small portion, pop it in the microwave for a few seconds.
Tips for the Best Peanut Butter S’mores Dip
- Keep an eye on the marshmallows while they are baking, as they can go from golden to burned pretty quickly. Don’t walk away from the oven!
- You can use mini marshmallows instead of regular size marshmallows, however the baking time may differ, so keep a close eye on it while baking.
- Try the dip with other tasty dippers such as pretzels for that sweet and salty combination or fresh fruit such as strawberries, bananas, apples, or berries.
Additions and variations
- Swap the traditional Graham crackers. Chocolate Graham crackers would also be amazing!
- Add more chocolate. You can do a full layer of chocolate bars and then a full layer of peanut butter cups. If you have enough extra to fill the whole skillet, go for it.
- Use different toppings. Shredded coconut or chopped nuts would add a little something extra.
- Different chocolate. Use dark, milk, or white chocolate chips. They will all work well in this peanut butter cup smores dip.
