Serving champagne punch with sherbet is an easy way to go above and beyond when hosting your next special occasion event! This 6-ingredient drink comes together in minutes, serves a crowd, and is as delightful to look at as it is to drink!
When planning for special occasions, we often get so focused on the food that we forget drinks are just as important! This is why I put just as much focus into coming up with fun and festive drinks that taste delicious and are easy to make.
Things like cranberry Christmas punch for Christmas parties and a non-alcoholic Christmas morning punch for the family. In the summertime, we’ll often whip up a Caribbean Rum Punch for our pool parties and backyard BBQs.
There’s always a need for a good party punch, and this champagne punch with sherbet is one of my new favorites. It’s fruity, citrusy, and a beautiful orange color, perfect for bridal showers, baby showers, and special occasion brunches.
It’s light, refreshing, and ultra-fizzy, and just before serving, we add sherbet for a bit of creaminess!
Why you’ll love this recipe
- It takes just 5 minutes to whip up.
- Makes enough to serve 20 people.
- All you need to do is open bottles and pour. It’s super easy.
- You can get creative with the garnishes depending on the occasion.
Ingredients for Orange Sherbet Punch
This section includes ingredient notes and substitution options. Get all measurements, ingredients, and instructions in the printable recipe card at the end of this post.
- Champagne – Use champagne or sparkling wine. Use your favorite affordable brand; it doesn’t have to be fancy. Use a dry champagne for less sweetness.
Pineapple Juice – For sweetness. The yellow also helps to mellow out the color of the orange sherbet, making it a little more elegant. - Club Soda – You can swap this with ginger ale, sprite, or lemon-lime soda for a bit more flavor.
- Confectioners’ sugar – Not to be swapped with granulated sugar, powdered sugar dissolves easily without leaving any granules in the punch. Adjust the amount of sugar to your liking.
- Lemon juice – Fresh lemon juice is best, but jarred works as well.
- Orange sherbet – If you can find a 1-quart container of orange sherbet, use it, but a 1.5 quarts / 48 oz size is fine too.
How to Make Champagne Sherbet Punch
This section shows you how to make the recipe with step-by-step photos and instructions. For the full printable recipe, see the recipe card below.
Step 1: Pour the chilled pineapple juice, club soda, sugar, and lemon juice into a large punch bowl. Stir to combine. Keep it chilled in the fridge until just before serving.
Pro Tip:
Chill all the ingredients (except sugar) until just before using them. Keeping the punch nice and cold is key!
Step 2: When the guests arrive, add the champagne and scoop half the orange sherbet into the punch.
Step 3: As time passes by, the sherbet will melt into the punch and foam up a bit. Use your judgment on when to go ahead and scoop in the rest of the orange sherbet.
Step 4: Serve this champagne punch with pineapple juice. It can be served in champagne glasses rimmed with orange sugar and orange slices or mason jars garnished with strawberries and pineapple chunks.
Tips for the Best Champagne Punch Recipe
- Make sure to keep everything nice and cold in the fridge. Warm punch is no fun.
- Prepare this just before serving; otherwise, it’ll go flat.
- Serve in a 2-gallon (or larger) punch bowl. You can double the recipe, but you will probably need an extra bowl.
Serving Suggestions
It’s not a party without appetizers and dessert! Place this refreshing punch on the table next to a bowl of candied nuts, jalapeno popper deviled eggs, ranch BLT pinwheels or 7-layer dip cups.
For dessert, it would pair nicely with a simple sour cream pound cake or lemon bars with a short bread crust.
Additions and variations
- Swap the alcohol. For a kid-friendly version, swap the bubbly for ginger ale, sprite, or lemon-lime soda instead. You can also use any of these in place of the club soda.
- Add a different fruit juices. Cranberry juice is great for the holidays, as is fruit punch with raspberry sorbet, but if we’re keeping with the baby shower and bridal shower theme, pink lemonade concentrate or orange juice may be the way to go while still using the orange sherbet or even a lime sherbet.
- Use a different sherbet. This champagne punch recipe works for all kinds of sorbet flavors. Rainbow sherbet punch is another fun one.

Champagne Punch with Sherbet
Ingredients
- 46 ounce can pineapple juice chilled
- 1 quart club soda chilled
- ¾ cup confectioners sugar or to taste
- ½ cup lemon juice chilled
- 2 750 ml champagne chilled
- 1 quart orange sherbet
Instructions
- Pour pineapple juice, club soda, confectioners sugar, and lemon juice to a large punch bowl. Stir well to combine and dissolve the sugar.
- Add champagne and scoops of orange sherbet when guests arrive. I like to add half the sherbet immediately and reserve the other half to add after it melts.
Notes
- Chill all liquid ingredients well before making the punch.
- I recommend a dry champagne. Use your favorite brand – doesn’t have to be expensive.
- Serve in a 2-gallon (or larger) punch bowl.
- This recipe yields enough for ~40 servings. This should be enough for 20 people at a daytime event like a baby shower or brunch where each person would have 2 glasses of punch. It won’t serve as many at an evening party (think New Year’s Eve) where people may having more than 2 glasses each.
- Halve the recipe for a smaller crowd.
