Halloween popcorn hands are a fun Halloween snack made with popcorn, candy corn, and plastic gloves. They are so simple to make that the kids can help make these fun snacks too.

Halloween Popcorn Hands made with disposable gloves stuffed with candy corn at the finger tips and popcorn.

When you don’t feel like baking witch hat cupcakes or Halloween cookies, these simple no-bake treats are the perfect easy Halloween treat idea.

With candy corn nails and spider rings, the spooky popcorn snack is great for Halloween parties.

Plus, they are also rather nostalgic as the spooky treats were super popular when I was a kid in the 80s and 90s.

Whether you’re prepping for trick-or-treaters or just need a big batch of quick treats for your Halloween party, these popcorn candy corn gloves are sure to be a huge hit!

Here’s what you will need

This section includes ingredient notes and substitution options. Get all measurements, ingredients, and instructions in the printable recipe card at the end of this post.

  • Popped Popcorn – Use your choice of freshly popped popcorn, bags of microwave popcorn, or pre-packaged popcorn. Pirate’s Booty is great for younger children.
  • Candy Corn – Used to create the “fingernails” in each popcorn hand.
  • Clear Disposable Gloves – Avoid latex gloves. Use the powder-free, latex-free plastic gloves that they make for food handling (I get mine on Amazon).
  • Ribbon – We used orange and black ribbon, but twine, twist ties, or yarn can work just as well.
  • Spider Rings (optional) – Adds a fun, spooky element. These should be easy to find at your local dollar store this time of year.

Tips for Making Halloween Hands

  • Pre-prep materials – Have all your materials ready before starting for a quicker, smoother assembly.
  • Lightly crush some of the popcorn into smaller pieces so that it fits easily into the fingers of the gloves.
  • Don’t overfill – Leave some space at the top of the glove to make it easier to tie off securely with ribbon.
  • Gently shake the gloves before tieing off to help popcorn settle and candy corn stay in place.
  • Making ahead? Use Pirate’s Booty or pre-packaged popcorn as it will stay fresh longer than popcorn freshly popped from kernals.

Additions and variations

  • Place Bugles in finger tips to create larger sharp, witch-like nails.
  • Use almond slivers to create a spooky, realistic nail look.
  • Add small pretzel sticks in the fingers alongside the popcorn for added crunch and shape.
  • Make popcorn witch hands by coloring the popcorn with green food coloring.

Prep: 15 minutes
Total: 15 minutes
Create spooky Halloween popcorn hands with popcorn, candy corn, and gloves! This easy, no-bake treat is perfect for a kids' Halloween party.

Ingredients

  • 5 cups popped popcorn
  • 20 candy corn

Instructions

  • Place a piece of candy corn into each of the glove's fingers, with the wider end pointing down towards the palm to resemble a fingernail.
  • Lightly crush about a handful of popcorn. (This will help it fit into the thin fingers of the gloves).
  • Carefully fill each finger of the glove with the lightly crushed popcorn, adjusting the candy corn pieces as needed to position them at the fingertips.
  • Fill the rest of the glove with whole popcorn.
  • Tie the gloves off with ribbon.
  • Add a spider ring for a spooky touch, if desired.

Notes

Be sure to use clear, food-safe gloves that are powder-free and latex-free (Food Contact Gloves).
If making ahead, use pre-packaged popcorn or a snack like Pirate’s Booty to keep the popcorn hands fresher for longer. For the best freshness, it’s recommended to make these as close to your event as possible.
