Although well last Halloween, looking for something different to bring to a super bowl party. Do the Hot Tamales fully dissolve? You mention only straining the strawberries.

They should fully dissolve, especially if you shake up the jar well while it sits. But if any pieces do remain, they end up getting stained out with the strawberries.

Is there any harm by not straining the strawberries??

Straining gets out the pieces of strawberries so that the moonshine will be nice and smooth (rather than chunky).

Does this have to be refrigerated? I’m making this as a surprise for my son and daughter and their spouses. I want to allow it to sit for several month before I give it to them and 4 qt jars takes up a lot of room in a small refrig. Wouldn’t it be ok after straining out the strawberries to allow it to sit in a cool dark place?

As long as it is cool and dark it should be fine.

I am wondering the same thing. What else goes into the jars to fill up the space? I think this is going to taste like fire and strawberry/cinnamon by itself
