Air Fryer Spiral Ham with Maple Pineapple Glaze

This easy air fryer spiral ham recipe has a sweet, tangy, and zesty maple pineapple glaze that will have everyone asking you for your recipe!

A boneless spiral ham is wrapped in foil, drenched in glaze, and air-fried to perfection. The result is an unbelievably flavorful ham that will be the star of your spread–whether you are serving it for Sunday dinner, Easter, Thanksgiving, or the holidays.

A little sweet, a little savory, a little salty–the flavor combination is just incredible.

While this ham in air fryer recipe is ideal for the holidays, don’t feel like you need to wait until a holiday rolls around to enjoy it. Ready in under one hour, this holiday ham is quick and easy enough to make for an amazing dinner any night of the week.

Plus, thanks to cooking the ham wrapped in foil in the air fryer, there is virtually no clean-up!

Now one thing that is important to note is that this air fryer ham is perfect for a smaller crowd. If you figure each person will eat 1/2 a pound of ham, that makes this 3-pound glazed ham recipe good for 6 people. If you are hoping to feed more, see the note below under “recipe tips”.

Ingredients

Top-down view of ingredients on countertop: dry mustard, pineapple juice, pineapple chunks, dijon mustard, maple syrup, and boneless spiral cut ham
  • HAM – Look for a fully-cooked boneless spiral ham. I prefer buying one that is pre-sliced, if possible, as it saves a step.
  • MAPLE SYRUP – For best results use pure maple syrup. Honey can be used instead if desired.
  • PINEAPPLE JUICE – Orange juice would work as well.
  • PINEAPPLE CHUNKS – Feel free to use more if you like a lot of pineapple pieces.
  • DIJON MUSTARD
  • DRY MUSTARD

How to cook spiral ham in the air fryer

In a small mixing bowl, stir to combine maple syrup, Dijon, and dry mustard. Add the pineapple chunks and pineapple juice, and mix until all ingredients are combined. Set aside.

Pineapple glaze for ham

Unwrap your ham and remove the netting. Wrap the ham in a single layer of aluminum foil, keeping the seam near the top so that it is easy to open.

Place the foil-covered ham into your air fryer basket and cook at 290°F for 15 minutes.

Open the air fryer, peel back the foil, and drizzle the glaze (pineapple chunks included) over the ham. Re-cover with the foil and cook for 25 more minutes.

Open the air fryer again, peel back the foil, and use a basting brush (or spoon) to cover the top of the ham with the glaze. Return ham to the air fryer uncovered to cook for an additional 10-15 minutes, or until the internal temperature reaches 145°F.

Allow the air fryer ham to rest for 5 minutes before serving. Serve drizzled with glaze or topped with additional pineapple chunks, if desired.

Storage

Leftovers can be refrigerated in an airtight container for up to 4 days.

Use leftover air fryer ham to make a tasty cold sandwich or reheat and enjoy.

It is also great in this breakfast egg casserole recipe.

Recipe Tips

  • Depending on your air fryer and the size of your ham, it may take slightly less or more time to cook. We used a 3-pound boneless sprial ham and a 5.8 quart COSORI air fryer.
  • If you have a larger air fryer you may be able to fit a 4-pound spiral ham in it which would feed 8, but keep in mind that it will take between 10-15 minutes longer to cook.
  • Follow up your air fryer ham with an air fryer dessert such as air fryer cookies or air fryer doughnuts.

FAQ

Do I need to wrap my ham in foil?

Yes! It helps to keep the glaze on the ham and works to keep all the moisture in there giving you the juiciest ham possible. As a bonus, it makes clean-up easier too!

What should I serve with air fryer ham?

Dinner rolls, air fryer roasted potatoes, asparagus, brussels sprouts, sweet potato casserole, and a garden salad are all great sides to pair with ham.

How much ham do I need?

When it comes to boneless spiral ham, plan on ½ pound of ham per person.

The cooking time would have to be adjusted but I don’t see why not, as long as the ham would fit in your crockpot.
