Truth be told, making a skillet cookie is even easier than making individual cookies. There is no scooping or rolling the dough into balls. The dough all bakes in a single skillet (or cake pan) in this easy recipe, similar to M&M cookie bars.

Try this delicious recipe the next time you are craving something sweet and I know that you will not be disappointed.

Ingredients

This section includes ingredient notes and substitution options. Get all measurements, ingredients, and instructions in the printable recipe card at the end of this post.

Ingredients for M&M cookie pizza: M&M candies, bottle of vanilla, melted butter, 1 egg, milk chocolate chips, brown sugar, white sugar, flour, salt, and baking powder.
  • Flour—Regular all-purpose flour.
  • Sugar—A mixture of brown and white sugar will give this cookie pizza a light caramel flavor.
  • Butter—Melted and cooled to room temperature.
  • Egg—At room temperature.
  • Vanilla Extract—Just a splash will help to round out the super sweet flavors in this dessert pizza.
  • Baking Powder— Causes your M&M cookie pizza to properly puff in the oven and keep from overspreading.
  • Salt—Just a pinch will help to balance the flavors.
  • M&Ms—Regular m&m candies are my favorite for this recipe but mini m&m candies would work, too. You will need about 1 cup of M&M candies, but I usually add a few extra M&Ms because I love them so much.
  • Chocolate chips—I like the light creaminess of milk chocolate, but you could use semisweet chocolate chips, dark chocolate chips, or white chocolate chips instead.

Recipe Variations

  • If you love sweet and salty things, you have to try making a peanut butter chocolate cookie dessert pizza! Simply add some Dutch process cocoa powder to your cookie base and top it with melted peanut butter chips.
  • A white chocolate raspberry cookie pizza would be perfect for brunches, teas, or showers! Swap out the M&Ms for white chocolate chips and the milk chocolate for your favorite raspberry jam to make a light and fruity dessert pizza.
  • Turn this M&M cookie pizza into an instant holiday dessert by creating a mint chocolate cookie pizza. To do this, create a chocolate cookie base filled with mint baking chips. You can even top this dessert pizza with your favorite mint frosting for some extra festive flavor.

Frequently Asked Questions

What is dessert pizza made of?

There are lots of different ways that you can make a dessert pizza! Some people opt to make a fruit pizza by topping a graham cracker crust with a sweet cream cheese spread and some sliced fresh fruit. Others choose to make a chocolatey dessert pizza like this M&M cookie pizza.

Can you bake with regular M&Ms?

Absolutely! There is no need to search for or buy any special M&Ms at the grocery store to make this giant cookie pizza. However, feel free to use any type or flavor of M&M that you like. From mint to peanut to pretzel, any flavor of M&M would work well in this pizza cookie.

Will M&Ms melt in the oven?

No. The hard candy shell on the chocolate candies will keep them from melting in the oven. However, you should be aware that they sometimes will crack. Unfortunately, there’s not much that you can do about this.
