Tips for the Best Fall Crockpot Meals
- Keep the lid on. Every time you peek, heat escapes and adds to the cooking time. Wait until it’s time to check.
- Fill it one-half to two-thirds full. Too full and the food cooks unevenly. Too empty and it can dry out.
- Cook on low when you can. Most crockpot recipes turn out more tender on low. Roasts and short ribs are especially worth the extra hours.
- Prep the night before. Chop the veggies and measure out the spices ahead of time, so the morning is a quick dump and go.
