Hocus pocus punch is an easy 3 ingredient Halloween punch for kids that is perfect to enjoy while watching the new movie Hocus Pocus 2, at your local Halloween party, or while handing out treats to trick-or-treaters on Halloween night.
Planning the perfect Halloween party? This gorgeous orange drink should totally be on the menu!
The best part is that you only need 2 minutes and 3 ingredients to whip it up. Serve the orange punch up with some witch hat cupcakes or witch hat cookies for even more witch-themed Halloween treats.
The fun punch is kid-friendly so everyone at your party can enjoy it.
If you have adults attending your shindig you could even fix them a glass of spiked hocus pocus punch or make them this witches brew cocktail and they’ll be talking about the party for months.
Ingredients
This section includes ingredient notes and substitution options. Get all measurements, ingredients, and instructions in the printable recipe card at the end of this post.
- Mango Peach Juice—I used V8 Splash which gives the Halloween party punch a beautiful orange color that is perfect for the Halloween season. You can substitute for another flavor of juice but this may alter the drink’s color and taste.
- Peach Sparkling Water— Lemon-lime soda, ginger ale, or another flavor of sparkling water would work as well. Just make sure whatever you choose pairs nicely with the flavor of the juice.
- Rainbow Sherbet— This is what really makes this festive hocus pocus punch recipe special! Let the kids drop it in and watch the fizzy hocus pocus magic happen right before your eyes. We used tropical rainbow sherbet but regular rainbow sherbet or even orange or lime sherbet would work as well.
Supplies
- Glass
- Measuring Cups
- Ice Cream Scoop

Storage
This non-alcoholic Halloween punch for kids is best enjoyed right when you make it because of the sherbet.
If you really want to make the kids Halloween punch ahead of time I would suggest just mixing the juice and sparkling water together and holding off on the sherbet until you’re ready to serve it.
Recipe tips and additions
- Spike it. If you want to make a hocus pocus cocktail for adults, you can! Use whatever alcohol you prefer. Here are some fun ideas: orange-flavored vodka, tequila, or even some Malibu rum!
- Swap the juice. You can use whatever juice you want. If you want super simple, you can mix pineapple juice and orange juice together.
- Add grenadine. Drizzle a little grenadine in there for a touch of “blood” if you want to give the easy drink a creepy vibe.
- Garnish. Hang a couple of gummy worms out the side of the glass.
- Use glow-in-the-dark cups. To keep this drink on theme, instead of glasses (kids and glass don’t always mix), grab some glow-in-the-dark cups from the party store or get a set online and watch them light up.

My eldest daughter is allergic to mango in ANY FORM EVEN ARTIFICIAL, what could I substitute in place for the Peach Mango to get it to taste at good enough. As well as not send her into anaphylaxis. Thanks
You can substitute with a juice that is safe for her to enjoy, however it will alter the color.
Someone else mentioned that V8 Orange Pineapple is really good and still orange color.
I’m thinking orange pineapple juice with pineapple sparkling water?
Can this be made with peach juice? My son is allergic to peaches.
You can use another kind of juice but it may alter the color of the punch.
V8 Orange Pineapple is really good and still orange color.
That is a great option, thank you for sharing!
Could you use vanilla ice cream in place of the sherbert?
I have not tried making this Halloween punch recipe with ice cream so I am not sure how it would taste.
Looks so good I’ll have to try it
We made our punch with sprite pineapple juice and lime sherbet it was good
Friendly reminder that “non-alcoholic” doesn’t mean it’s only suitable for kids, like how this is described. Please don’t reinforce the idea that it has to have alcohol in it to be worth drinking for adults. Sober adults like to be whimsical and enjoy beverages and watch Hocus Pocus too. Sincerely, a woman with 2.5 years of sobriety under her belt.
That’s great proud of you and your sobriety but just because you took this and it made you feel some type of way doesn’t mean everyone else feels that same way’ don’t think so much into it.
It’s only the internet lol
get over yourself!!
love this!!
I am in the UK. What is Rainbow Sherbet? Is it Ice-cream?
Sherbet is a frozen dessert similar to ice cream but it is made with fruit juice (or fruit puree) and smaller amount of dairy. It is almost like a cross between ice cream and sorbet.
Sherbet: A frozen dessert made mainly of fruit juice or fruit purée, usually with sugar and milk or cream.
Also known as…
Sorbet: a sweet food made from fruit juice, water, and sugar mixed together and frozen.
60$ a person is absolutely ridiculous!! What are you thinking?
I am not sure how you came up with that number but I can buy all the ingredients at my local grocery store for under $7 and that makes enough for multiple servings.
???? Where did that come from?
It’s maybe $.60 a person
