It seriously couldn’t be easier to make this classic coffee house drink at home!
Storage
This is best served fresh, as it has ice. You will find the ice is going to water down the coffee if you let it sit. I recommend only making it right before serving.
Now, in terms of coffee, I recommend making the coffee in advance. Store the coffee in the fridge, so you start with cold coffee. Just brew, and then refrigerate in an airtight container.
Tips and Variations For Making This Caramel Frappuccino
- You can replace the whole milk with almond milk or another plant-based milk to replace if you need a dairy free drink.
- A high powered blender is key for making a frappuccino. It will break up the ice into small pieces that are sippabley delicious.
- Use homemade caramel sauce for added flavor, or grab your favorite store bought brand. Ghirardelli caramel sauce is one of my favorites.
- Sprinkle sea salt on top of your Starbucks copycat caramel frappuccino, to help bring out even more flavor.
Recipe FAQs
The key to this drink is to make sure your coffee is strong enough. If you find your coffee isn’t strong enough, brew it stronger or reach for espresso to swap out the coffee.
Looking to make more coffee to serve up? No problem, double or even triple the recipe. Just make sure you have a large enough blender to mix up the coffee and other ingredients!

I love Frappuccino’s!
Can I use chocolate instead of caramel and how much?
I would substitute the caramel sauce with the same amount of chocolate sauce. Sounds yummy!
Might one freeze some coffee, and even some milk, and therrfore, use less ice? If so, would some ice still be necessary to keep the drink from being too strong? Just some thoughts…💕
Love them. Can you do one for the caramel ribbon crunch as this is my new favorite one.
I am loving the caramel ribbon crunch also!! But, I am trying to find how to make that crunch since they dont sell it. I read somewhere to use heath bits toffee bits. So I bought it and smashed it but..uh uh. Nope. Has anyone had any luck?
For the caramel syrup can I use the syrup that you would put on vanilla ice cream?
Yes!
Can you use almond milk instead
That shouldn’t be a problem.
