This adult hot chocolate is perfect for curling up on the couch with your favorite book.
It is also a great option for Fall and Winter parties and holidays, as is this old-fashioned hot buttered rum recipe.
Ingredients
Here is what you will need for this hot cocktail…
- 2 cups milk
- ⅓ cup semi-sweet chocolate chips
- 1 Tablespoon cocoa powder
- pinch of sea salt
- 2 Tablespoons heavy cream
- 3 oz. Smirnoff Kissed Caramel Vodka (also great in these caramel apple shots!)
- Optional Toppings: whipped cream, caramel sauce, chocolate sauce, chocolate chips, marshmallows, etc…
If you have never had Smirnoff Kissed Caramel Vodka before, you are in for a treat. It is infused with the taste of homemade caramels with just a hit of sea salt–perfect for making spiked hot chocolate!
Although if you would prefer to use an unflavored vodka, that works too! Substitute with the same amount for a non-caramel flavored boozy hot cocoa.
How to Make Boozy Hot Chocolate
- Combine milk chocolate chips, cocoa powder, and salt on the stovetop. Stir in heavy cream.
- Remove from heat and stir in vodka.
- Pour into your favorite mug, garnish, and enjoy.
