Ingredients

This section includes ingredient notes and substitution options. Get all measurements, ingredients, and instructions in the printable recipe card at the end of this post.

  • Cupcakes – We used cupcakes made from boxed mix but you can also get out the mixer and use your favorite homemade vanilla cupcakes or chocolate cupcakes recipe. Black cupcake liners go perfectly with the witch hat theme.
  • Ice cream conespointy sugar cones make the perfect witch hat.
  • Vanilla frosting – Again, we used premade frosting for ease but homemade frosting would work too.
  • Green food dye – I recommend a gel-based food coloring that won’t water down the frosting, such as this one.
  • Black color mist food spray – to color the ice cream cone black. You could also dip the cones in melted black candy melts.
  • Purple decorating icing and orange decorating icing – for adding the final details.
