You will start by gathering your ingredients. For this recipe, you will need boneless skinless chicken breasts, pasta, mushrooms, spinach, chicken broth, cream, milk, garlic, olive oil, and parmesan cheese.
Next, you will prep your ingredients. After a few minutes of chopping and slicing, you will be ready to begin cooking.

Ingredients
- 1 tbsp olive oil
- 1 clove garlic, minced
- ½ lb chicken breast, cut into bite-size pieces
- salt and pepper to taste
- 1 cup mushrooms, thinly sliced
- 1 ½ cup chicken broth
- 1 cup heavy cream
- 1 cup milk
- 8 oz penne, or other dry pasta
- 2 cups fresh spinach
- 1/2 cup grated parmesan cheese
Instructions
- Heat olive oil and garlic in large skillet or pan over medium-high heat. Add chicken, season with salt and pepper, and cook until lightly golden brown.
- Add mushrooms and cook for 2 additional minutes.
- Add broth, cream, and milk, stirring to mix well. Bring to a simmer, add pasta, and cook until tender (about 15 minutes).
- Add spinach, tossing until slightly wilted (about 1 minute). Remove from heat.
- Toss with parmesan cheese and serve.

No, you do not need to cook the pasta first. It cooks in the simmering liquid when you add it to the pot.
