How to Make Sugar Cookie Fudge

Start by gathering everything that you will need, which will be simple since this fudge recipe only calls for 5 simple ingredients.

Ingredients

  • white chocolate chips
  • sugar cookie mix
  • sweetened condensed milk
  • butter
  • Christmas sprinkles (or rainbow sprinkles if you prefer)

Supplies

  • 9 x 9 baking dish
  • parchment paper
  • non-stick spray
  • large pot
  • spoon / spatula, for stirring

Now it is time to get down to business.

Line a 9×9 baking dish with parchment paper and a thin layer of non-stick spray and set aside. The parchment paper and non-stick spray will help you remove the fudge easily once it has set.

Next, heat the sweetened condensed milk over medium heat in a large pot. Once hot, stir in the white chocolate chips, sugar cookie mix, and butter.

Prep: 5 minutes
Cook: 5 minutes
Set Time 2 hours
Total: 2 hours 10 minutes
Easy-to-make, 5-Ingredient, Sugar cookie Christmas fudge is a combo of two of my favorite treats: Christmas sugar cookies and fudge.

Ingredients

  • 1 14 ounce can sweetened condensed milk
  • 2 ½ cups white chocolate chips
  • 1 ¼ cup sugar cookie mix I recommend heat-treating as per note below
  • 2 Tablespoons butter
  • christmas sprinkles or sprinkles of your choice

Instructions

  • Prepare a 9×9 baking dish with parchment paper and a thin layer of non-stick spray. Set aside.
  • Add sweetened condensed milk to a large pot and heat over medium heat, stirring often. Once hot, stir in the white chocolate chips, sugar cookie mix, and butter. Continue stirring until melted and smooth. Remove from heat.
  • Stir in a generous amount of Christmas sprinkles.
  • Pour fudge mixture into the prepared dish and top with more sprinkles.
  • Place in refrigerator and allow to set overnight, or until firm (at least 2 hours). Slice into bite-size pieces and serve.

Notes

How to heat-treat cookie mix: Sugar cookie mix contains raw flour which should be "heat-treated" by heating it to 165°F to kill any potentially harmful bacteria. You can do this easily in the microwave or oven. Simply place the mix in a large microwave-safe bowl and microwave in 30-second increments, stirring between each, until the temperature of the mix reaches 165°F on an instant-read thermometer. It shouldn’t take longer than 2 minutes in total. Or to heat-treat the mix in the oven, spread it onto a baking sheet and toast the mix at 350°F for 5 minutes, or until it reaches 165°F.
Storage: Store in an airtight container at room temperature for up to 1 week. For longer storage keep in the fridge for up to 3 weeks.

    1. I am far from a food safety expert or food scientist but from my understanding as long as the raw flour in the mix is heated to 165 degree F it should be okay. You can heat treat the cookie mix in the oven or microwave before making the fudge to be extra safe.

  1. This is one of the easiest and tastiest fudge recipes I’ve found. No need for candy thermometer or worrying about temperature. I’ve made it twice and it’s came out perfect both times. Everyone who try’s it, loves it.

    1. I just made it but I’m concerned about it. It looks and feels like it’s going to end up being a bake pan of cookie dough. Is it supposed to completely melt down?

  2. I actually made this with snickerdoodle cookie mix instead of sugar cookie, and I may try it with pumpkin spice as well as gingerbread in the future… makes it so much easier!!!

  3. I’d really like to make this fudge, but am concerned about the “melting sprinkles/ugly fudge ” issue commented on in several posts. Would really hate to waste ingredients.
Is there a specific brand of sprinkles you use, or just the kind you find in the grocery store? I’m considering purchasing several pounds worth from The Bulk Barn, but…not sure if it would be wise for this recipe. Thanks in advance, from a -10°F, + blowing snow, Alberta, Canada 🇨🇦 afternoon.

    1. I have used various brands of sprinkles I pick up at my local grocery store as well as sprinkles from Walmart and/or Target. I have not experienced this issue. I would just be sure to not over-stir the mixture when adding the sprinkles, which could cause them to melt. Add the sprinkles and stir gently, just until they are distributed throughout the mixture.

      1. i added sprinkles and stirred gently and they still kinda melted in but it still looks red and green christmasy i just put it in the fridge to harden up hope i like it!

  4. can I make my own sugar cookie mix? just any recipe of it? I found only one Recipe online that doesnt just use sugar cookie mix.. but not sure I trust it.

    1. I haven’t tried the recipe with DIY sugar cookie mix but it I think that would work just fine. If you do decide to give it a try please let us know how it comes out.

  5. If you’re afraid of the ugly fudge, just put the sprinkles on top instead of in the fudge before refrigerating them.
