This orange fudge recipe is hands-down one of the best fudge recipes. Not only because it’s easy, but because it really mimics that unmistakable flavor. Similar to my orange creamsicle lush and orange fluff, it’s ideal for spring and summer gatherings, potlucks, and to package up to give to your fellow creamsicle lovers!
Why you’ll love this recipe

- Looks fancy. The swirls are super cute, and so easy to make.
- Versatile. Great for gifting, parties, holidays, and just because treats.
Orange Creamsicle Fudge Ingredients
This section includes ingredient notes and substitution options. Get all measurements, ingredients, and instructions in the printable recipe card at the end of this post.

- Cream cheese frosting: Use regular cream cheese frosting. Do not use whipped frosting because the extra air whipped in won’t allow the fudge to set up the same way. I had great results using Betty Crocker Rich & Creamy Cream Cheese frosting.
- White chocolate chips: These are the base of the fudge. I recommend Ghirardelli white chocolate chips or melting wafers, or another high-quality brand, for the best flavor and the smoothest melt.
- Orange extract: Gives this white chocolate orange fudge its signature creamsicle flavor. A little goes a long way! I used this orange extract.
- Orange gel food coloring: Be sure to use an oil-based gel coloring rather than a water-based one. Melted white chocolate is fat-based, so using a water-based coloring can cause it to seize and turn grainy.
How to Make Orange Creamsicle Fudge
This section shows you how to make the recipe with step-by-step photos and instructions. For the full printable recipe, see the recipe card below.

Step 1: Melt the white chocolate morsels in the microwave. Stir in the cream cheese frosting and microwave again, stirring until smooth.
Step 2: Transfer half of the fudge mixture into a prepared pan and smooth it into an even layer.
Step 3: Stir orange extract and a few drops of the food coloring in to the remaining fudge mixture.
Step 4: Work quickly to spread the orange mixture over the white layer in the pan, and then use a spoon to gently swirl the two together.
Pro Tip:
Work fast once you start combining the orange layer. This dreamsicle fudge starts firming up quickly, and you want enough time to get those pretty swirls before it sets.
Step 5: Refrigerate for 1 hour, or until the batch is fully set. Then, use the parchment paper to lift it out of the pan and slice it into bite-sized pieces. Enjoy!

Storage
Refrigerator: Store orange creamsicle fudge in an airtight container in the fridge for up to 2 weeks.
Freezer: Transfer the pieces of fudge to a freezer-safe, airtight container and layer them with parchment paper to prevent sticking. Keep frozen for up to 2 months, then thaw in the fridge before serving.

Recipe Tips & Variations
- Use the proper ingredients. Regular cream cheese frosting (not whipped), high-quality white chocolate, and an oil-based food coloring.
- Make-ahead. A great make-ahead treat since it needs to chill anyway.
- Double the recipe. For a bigger batch, double the ingredients and use a 9×13 pan.
- Cut into fun shapes. Use small cookie cutters to cut your orange cream fudge pieces into fun shapes for the kids.
