A refreshing twist on classic lemonade, this homemade peach lemonade combines ripe peaches and fresh lemon juice for a sweet-tart, fruity drink. Perfect for cooling off on a hot day.
2cupsfresh chopped peaches(about 4 medium peaches)
4cupscold waterdivided
½cupsugaror to taste
1cuplemon juicefreshly squeezed
icefor serving
fresh mintfor garnish (optional)
Instructions
Chop peaches, removing pits but leaving the skin on.
Heat peaches, 2 cups water, and sugar over medium heat in a medium sized saucepan. Bring to a boil and then reduce heat and let simmer for 5-7 minutes, or until peaches are mushy.
Remove from heat and allow to cool to room temperature for 10 minutes. Then refrigerate until fully cooled.
Strain the peach mixture through a fine mesh sieve to remove pulp.
Stir in cold water and lemon juice.
To serve, pour over ice. Garnish with fresh mint and peach slices if desired.
