Red and green Christmas jello shots are a fun and festive adults-only treat for Christmas celebrations.
Ingredients
13 ounce package of lime Jello
13 ounce package of cranberry Jello
2cupsboiling waterdivided
1cupcold waterdivided
1cupvodkadivided
whipped cream
Christmas sprinkles
Instructions
Prep: Place the plastic shot cups on a rimmed tray or in a baking dish so that they will be easy to transfer to and from the refrigerator. Also, make sure that you have space in your refrigerator to place them set.
Green layer: In a large bowl or measuring cup with a spout combine the lime jello mix and 1 cup of boiling water. Whisk until the jello is fully dissolved, about 2 minutes. Whisk in ½ cup of cold water and ½ cup of vodka. Carefully pour the jello mixture into the cups, filling them each a little less than halfway. Place the shots in the refrigerator to chill until the jello has set, about 45 minutes
Red layer: Repeat the process, whisking the cranberry jello mix with 1 cup of boiling water until dissolved, then mixing in ½ cup of cold water and ½ cup of vodka. Carefully pour the red liquid on top of the green layer. Chill in the refrigerator until fully set (at least 2 hours, overnight works too).
Serve: When ready to serve, top with whipped cream and festive sprinkles.
Notes
Cranberry jello is seasonal, if you have trouble finding it the recipe will work with strawberry, cherry, or raspberry jello as well.Store covered in the refrigerator for up to 3 days. Top with whipped cream and sprinkles just before serving.
