A ghostly shepherd's pie recipe for Halloween. The delicious ground beef casserole is topped with mashed potato ghosts for a spooky, easy Halloween dinner idea that the whole family will love.
Ingredients
2poundsground beefor lamb
1yellow oniondiced
12ouncebag frozen mixed veggies
1brown gravy mix
2cupscheddar cheese
4ouncepackage instant potatoes
1-3black olives
Instructions
Preheat oven to 350℉. Spray a baking dish with non stick spray and set aside.
In a large skillet over medium heat, brown ground beef and diced onion. Cook until meat is no longer pink and onions are translucent. Drain and add to baking dish in an even layer.
Microwave or boil frozen mixed veggies. Drain and add to casserole dish on top of meat mixture in an even layer.
Cook the brown gravy by following the directions on package. Pour the gravy evenly over the entire dish.
Sprinkle shreddd cheddar cheese on top.
Bake for 20 minutes or until the cheese has melted.
While the shepherd’s pie bakes, prepare the instant potatoes by following the directions on package.
Once cooked, place potatoes into a piping bag or freezer baggie with the corner snipped off. Pipe ghosts on top of the shepherd’s pie.
Use a straw to punch out small black circles from black olives. Place them as "eyes" on the ghosts.
