This easy bourbon chicken recipe brings the flavors of the mall food court to your kitchen! Sweet, sticky, and perfectly saucy, it’s ready in under 30 minutes and pairs perfectly with white rice and broccoli for a complete meal.
Ingredients
1 ½poundsboneless skinless chicken thighsor breasts, cut into bite-sized pieces
scallions and sesame seedsoptional garnish
broccoli and white riceoptional, for serving
Bourbon Sauce
1cupapple juice
1cuplight brown sugarpacked
⅔cupketchup
2Tablespoonsapple cider vinegar
2Tablespoonssoy sauce
3garlic clovesminced
1teaspoononion powder
1teaspoongarlic powder
Instructions
In a medium bowl, whisk together all the sauce ingredients. Set aside.
Heat a large skillet over medium-high heat. Add the chicken and cook, stirring occasionally, until lightly browned and cooked through, about 3–4 minutes.
Pour the sauce into the skillet and bring to a simmer, stirring occasionally.
Reduce the heat to medium and let the sauce simmer uncovered until it thickens and coats the chicken, about 13–15 minutes.
Garnish with scallions and sesame seeds and serve over rice.
