Preheat the oven to 350°F. Line baking sheets with parchment paper and set them aside.
Using a stand mixer or hand mixer and a large bowl, cream together butter, shortening, and sugar until light and fluffy.
¾ cup unsalted butter, ¼ cup shortening, 1 cups granulated sugar
Beat in eggs and vanilla.

In another bowl, whisk together flour, dry pudding mix, baking powder, and salt. Gradually add to the butter mixture, a little at a time, mixing between additions.
