Watermelon lemonade is a light and refreshing summertime drink that is easy to make with fresh watermelon, lemons, and sugar.
Ingredients
3 ½cupswaterdivided
½cupgranulated sugar
½medium-sized watermeloncubed (approx. 6-7 cups)
½cupfresh lemon juiceabout 2-3 lemons
Instructions
In a small saucepan, make a simple syrup by bringing ½ cup water and sugar to a boil over high heat. Reduce to medium-low and simmer until sugar is dissolved, stirring frequently. Remove from heat and allow to cool.
Puree watermelon in a blender and until smooth. Strain through a fine-mesh strainer to remove any seeds or thick pieces of watermelon.
Add the 3 cups of watermelon puree, cooled simple syrup, lemon juice, and 3 cups of water to a pitcher. Stir gently to combine.
Refrigerate until ready to serve. Serve over ice and garnish with a wedge of watermelon, if desired.
Notes
