This conversation on Winter Must Haves for Baby is sponsored by Mommy’s Bliss, but all opinions are my own.
As temperatures drop and fall turns to winter, this is the perfect time to make sure you are ready with these winter must-haves for baby.
From warm clothing to an organic remedy for occasional coughs, read on for a list of all the items that we have found essential to get our one-year-old son through winter.
Warm Clothing
Baby’s winter wardrobe should have long sleeve bodysuits, fleece pants, warm sweaters or sweatshirts, and thick socks.
I have found it best to dress my little guy in layers, so that we can easily add a layer if he is cold, or remove a layer if he is too hot.
On chilly winter nights, we dress our son in fleece footie pajamas to keep him warm and cozy while he sleeps. We prefer zip-up pajamas to the button-up or snap-up varieties, as they make diaper changes much easier.
Winter Coat
A thick, warm coat is a must for wintertime. Our son has a great coat with a warm hood attached. If you choose a coat without a hood, just make sure that you have a warm hat as well.
Mittens
Mittens are essential for keeping baby’s hands and fingers warm on chilly winter days.
Boots
Likewise, a good pair of boots is necessary to keep baby’s feet warm and dry. If your little one isn’t walking yet, a pair of warm booties will do the trick as well.
Snowsuit
If your little one is old enough to play in the snow, you might want to invest in a snowsuit.
We just got our son his first snowsuit, and can’t wait to get him out there to enjoy the snow this winter!

Humidifier
As temperatures outside drop, we turn up the heat to keep our homes warm.
Unfortunately, indoor heating systems also strip the air of moisture, which leads to dry skin. Running a humidifier in baby’s nursery will help put moisture back into the air and prevent baby’s sensitive skin from drying out.

Two of my cousins just had babies so this is a perfect post. I was thinking of making each of them a gift basket for Christmas and with my kids being older was not quite sure what to put in it. Thank you! I will be adding that cough syrup to my shopping list, thinking I’ll just make a winter health type theme.
Don’t forget earmuffs! They’re so important as the ears are one of the first things to freeze!
This is a great comprehensive list of things to have. When we lived in the North and my kids were little I bundled them in layers too. A snow suit was a must as the temperatures changed so often and who wanted to get stranded in the cold with out the proper clothing. Great list.
Ah yes I remember having these items on hand when I had babies. I’m glad to see there is a cough medicine that is safe for babies. I had to struggle with sick babies who were too young for traditional medicine but there was nothing else then.
These winter clothes are so cute! They look rugged and warm, allowing kids to play longer without getting cold.
