No matter what kind of blogger you are, here are 10 blog post ideas of what to blog about for when you’ve hit writer’s block.

If you run a blog on any sort of continuing basis, then you’ve probably experienced that nagging pressure to constantly create fresh, new content. Sometimes as bloggers it seems like we’re experiencing a season of endless creativity, while at other times it seems like our creative fountains are running dry. What are you to do as a blogger when the inspiration for new blog content just isn’t coming?

Luckily, there are a great many blog post ideas you can turn to when creativity is running scarce. No matter what kind of blogger you are, here are 10 blog post ideas of what to blog about for when you’ve hit writer’s block.

  1. Behind-the scenes/my workspace

Have your readers ever seen your personal workspace? The place where you draft and create most of your blog posts? Tidy up your workspace a tad and take some pictures to give your readers a taste of what your life as a blogger is like.

  1. What’s in my bag

No matter what kind of blogger you are, here are 10 blog post ideas of what to blog about for when you’ve hit writer’s block.

This is an especially popular blog post idea among fashion and makeup bloggers, but you could really tie this idea into any blog niche. If you’re a photography blogger, for example, you might share with readers what photo gear you typically pack in your camera bag for a photo shoot. Or if you’re a lifestyle blogger, you could share what you keep in your bag for on-the-go errands. If you’re a fitness junkie, you could share what’s in your fitness bag. So on and so forth.

  1. Products I love

No matter your niche, chances are you have the opportunity to recommend favorite products to your readers on a regular basis. If you’re a fashion blogger, for example, you might recommend favorite staple wardrobe items. On the other hand, if you’re a food blogger, you might recommend favorite cooking utensils. If you’re more of a lifestyle blogger, maybe you would recommend favorite makeup products or household gadgets. Make a list of ten things you can live without and share it with your readers.

  1. What I’m reading

No matter what you blog about, there are surely a myriad of books out there related to your blog niche. Food blogger? Try out a new cookbook and tell your readers about your experience. Mommy blogger? Read a new parenting book and share your thoughts in a blog post. Fashion blogger? Check out a biography about one of your favorite designers and invite others to do the same. This is the type of blog post idea that could turn into a series—perhaps even an online “book club.”

  1. What I’m watching

You know how people are always looking for something new to watch on Netflix and Hulu? Why not give them some recommendations through a “what I’m watching” blog post? You could talk about documentaries related to your blog niche, or simply share your current favorites to give your readers a taste of who you are. This is another blog post idea that could turn into a regular column.

  1. Open ended question

No matter what kind of blogger you are, here are 10 blog post ideas of what to blog about for when you’ve hit writer’s block.

Have you had a question on your mind lately? Something like “Can exes be friends?”, “Can money buy happiness?”, or “How do you create work life balance?” You could ask an open ended question just to stimulate discussion amongst your readers, or you might ask about something that you need advice on.

  1. Things I’ve learned

What have you learned as a blogger in your niche so far? Or, what have you learned in life recently that you would like to share with your readers? This blog topic could be highly focused around your niche, or it could take on a more personal air.

  1. Things you don’t know about me

Sometimes readers like to learn a little more about the face behind all the blog photos and text. What could you share with readers that they already don’t know about you? The quirkier you get, the more fun it will be for your readers.

  1. Skill tutorial

No matter what kind of blogger you are, here are 10 blog post ideas of what to blog about for when you’ve hit writer’s block.

What’s a skill that you use frequently as you blog that you could impart to your readers? Maybe you’re extremely well versed with WordPress and could share a checklist of everything you do when publishing a new blog post. Maybe you’re adept at food photography and have a few food photography tips you could share. Or maybe you have a knack for putting together impeccably coordinated outfits. Share a skill that you think your readers would love to learn!

  1. Update a popular post

Is there a popular post on your blog that you feel you could shed new light on now that months or years have passed? Try hitting “refresh” by writing a new post with updated content. Maybe you have something new to say about your go-to skin care routine or “5 things every Facebook post should have.”

Still stuck on what to blog about? I thought this article had some great tips on thinking up new blog topics related to your particular niche.
