Instead of lugging my diaper bag and my handbag around this summer, I decided to combine the two. And today I am sharing a little peek at what's inside.

This is a sponsored post for SheSpeaks.

I don’t know about you, but I am super excited for the start of summer.

This will be my little man’s first real summer. I know that I have probably mentioned it about 100 times already — but I am just so excited! Nathaniel was born last summer but didn’t get to enjoy any fun summer activities because he was too little.

This summer we have lots of summer fun planned. Between trips to the beach, a long road trip to North Carolina, and many days at the local pool, we will be spending lots of time on the go.

So, instead of lugging baby’s diaper bag and my handbag wherever we go, I decided to combine the two. Carrying one bag around rather than two makes things so much easier.

My Summer Diaper Bag Essentials

Let’s take a little peek at what I am carrying in my diaper bag this summer.

Diapers: For obvious reasons.

Wipes: Great for everything from wiping dirty heinys to sticky fingers.

Changing pad: I never know where I will find myself changing a diaper, and a changing pad offers a clean and soft surface for changing baby wherever we may be.

Extra clothing for baby: Because messes happen.

Wet bag: For placing wet and/or messy clothing in until it gets home to be washed.

Sunscreen: I take protecting my baby’s sensitive skin from the sun very seriously. Even if we don’t plan on being outside, I never know when we will end up on an impromptu park visit, so I always keep sunscreen on hand.

Water: Because hydration is important, especially in the summer.

Always® Radiant pads: Because there is no hope of me looking or feeling my best during my period if I am not wearing the right pad.

Made with FlexFoam™, Always® Radiant pads can absorb up to 10 times their weight while remaining so thin and comfortable that I often forget I am even wearing a pad.

Always understands that not every woman is the same size, or has the same flow. That is why Always Radiant pads are available in a wide variety of sizes. In fact, Always has just came out with two additional sizes to ensure that every woman can find a perfect fit.

I have found that Always Radiant pads are great for overnights as well. They offer up to 10 hours of protection! (But who am I kidding — my son never lets me sleep that long!)

Keeping Always Radiant pads in my bag allows me to be period-ready at a moments notice. They are up to 100% leak- and odor-free, so I can feel my best even when I have my period.

Notebook: While a notebook might not be a must-have for everyone, I find that it is the perfect way for me to keep track of blog post ideas that pop into my head while I am out and about. If I don’t jot them down right away I will totally forget them!

Toys: Instant entertainment for baby.

Bottles & formula dispenser: For easy on-the-go feedings.

Snack for baby: A little bit of cereal makes for a quick and easy snack.

Sunglasses: Both for the little guy and for mama. Although to be honest, our little guy absolutely refuses to keep his shades on. As soon as I put them on his face he pulls them right off. But that doesn’t stop me from trying!

Clutch: To corral mama’s things within the diaper bag, like mama’s wallet, notebook, cell phone, and Always Radiant pads.

By the way, did you notice the stylish floral prints on the new Always Radiant packaging? I am in love! Who knew a pad could be so cute and fashion-forward?!

Bam! Fitting all the things in one bag really is possible!

Absolutely LOVE this! It is so true, I need to combine all this into one bag! There is absolutely NO reason for me to be lugging around two different bags through the summer heat EVERYDAY!

I recently started my own little boutique clothing site for little kids, and I would love it if you would like to do a review for my company at some point! Let me know what you think!

I try to slip a few pads into my car’s glove box too so that I don’t get caught without them! Great list of summer diaper bag items!

Oh I remember the days of diaper bags. Great for stuffing all sorts of things in there that you may need!

A notebook is definitely on my must-have list! I always try to have one & a pen with me. I guess I CAN use the notes app on my phone these days, but I still prefer paper!

You are prepared for everything with that diaper bag. I am impressed. I don’t recall being that prepared when I had to carry around a diaper bag, way to go Mama!

    I carry wipes – and I don’t even have a child, just a husband!
