Don’t you hate when you can’t find what you are looking for? I know I do. Well, now there is an iPhone and iPad app that helps you organize and categorize your stuff so you know where everything is. Sortly allows you to create a visual inventory of your items and organize them into folders that describe their location (e.g., “file cabinet 2” or “box 6”). You can even add pictures, videos, tags, and notes to the items in your inventory. Then, when you need to find something, you can search for it and Sortly will tell you just where it is. No more searching!
Sortly can be a great help for keeping a home inventory, when preparing for a move or packing up boxes to put in the attic. You can use Sortly to create folders for each box and then use it to quickly keep track of the items you are putting in each. To take it a step further, you can print out QR labels and associate them with each box. Scanning a boxes QR code would then bring up its inventory.
You can share your inventory with your family or friends, or export your data to Dropbox or Evernote.
The free version limits you to 200 item entries, and doesn’t allow you to share your inventory with your friends or print QR codes. For those features you will need to upgrade to the Premium version for $7.99.
