I am receiving 12 weeks of the Nutrisystem® Uniquely Yours plan for myself and my husband in return for our honest review. All opinions are 100% our own.
Another week down! This was my husband and I’s 5th week on the Nutrisystem program! To be honest, I can’t believe how quickly these weeks are flying by! For those of you who haven’t been keeping up, you can catch up on our by reading our weekly Nutrisystem progress posts.
The best thing about the Nutrisystem program is that we do not feel like our diet is too strict or too limited. We still get to enjoy all our faves such as sausage and egg sandwiches, hamburgers, ice cream, cheese puffs, and even donuts! With all the sweet treats Nutrisystem has to offer it really is easy to stay on the right track.

Staying on Track
The most challenging part of the Nutrisystem program had to be fighting all the temptations the week that Neal and I went away on vacation. The temptations were everywhere and we did slip up a little bit. Aside from the week of our vacation, following the Nutrisystem program has been easy — as long as we do our part of meal prepping and meal planning.
While Nutrisystem does provide most of our food, we still have to make it a point to get to the grocery store every few days for fresh fruits and veggies. It seems we are always running out of lettuce and cucumbers within 3 days of going to the store.
Meal Planning and Meal Prepping
Meal planing and meal prepping have been our keys to success when it comes to staying on track on the Nutrisystem Program.
When we get our groceries home I typically dive right in to prepping our fruits and veggies so they are “quality-checked,” washed, and cut. Yes, all my produce goes through a rigorous quality-checking procedure one I get it home. I literally check each grape, carrot, berry, or cherry tomato for any signs of soft spots, mold, or any other imperfections. Once I get rid of anything icky I wash everything and (if necessary) cut it up. Even the dozen eggs we pick up at the store gets prepared ahead of time and turned in to 12 hard-boiled eggs for use to have as power fuels throughout the week.
Having our healthy snacks prepared really helps us to make good choice when it comes to snacks throughout the week. If I bought celery and left it unprepared we would never choose it to snack on. But if I have that celery all cleaned up and cut into ants-on-a-log-size-pieces, it makes snacking on them a much easier choice. (And yes, I really do pack hubby ants on a log for him to bring to work sometimes!)
The program allows us to eat every few hours throughout the day, which helps to curb our hunger. It also requires some meal planning, which is something I never really took part in before starting the Nutrisystem program. Each morning I plan out all the meals and snacks for the day for myself and my husband. I pack him his breakfast, AM snack, lunch, and afternoon snack so he can have everything that he needs for the day while he is at work.

It’s really hard to stay on track with dieting when cooking for the familiy. Nutrisystems sound like they really help with making you feel less deprived.
Nutrisystems and planning sound like a great way to successfully loose the weight, thanks for sharing.
A friend of mine is thinking of going on the NurtiSystem plan and I am interested too. I need as much help as I can possibly get when it comes to losing and maintaining my weight, so I appreciate all the info you provide about it! 🙂
Keeping healthy snacks handy is so good for me so I don’t grab something bad.
You guys are doing great! Keep up the good work.
The planning is the most important part of this system. If you can do it it should work well.
Nutrisystem definitely helps alot. I love the planning aspect. Meal portions are very important to me. I used to alot when I was dieting for a bikini body during the summer time. Excercise was also in my plan.
I am thinking about trying Nutrisystem. It would help my diet.
