“The best part of wakin’ up is Folgers in your cup.” I can’t help but smile and start singing along anytime I hear the iconic Folgers jingle. In fact, you can often catch me singing it as I pour myself a cup of Folgers coffee in the morning. The jingle reminds me of how much I enjoy the relaxing time I have in the morning with my coffee before I start my day.
The Folgers jingle has been around for generations and generations, and has become a piece of pop culture. Almost everyone can sing along when they hear the familiar tune.
This year, Folgers has teamed up with country music legend Chris Young to encourage aspiring musicians to follow their dreams. Musicians are invited to create their own version of the iconic Folgers jingle for a chance to win a mentor session with Chris Young and $25,000.
How the Folgers Jingle Contest works:
To enter the Folgers Jingle Contest, participants must submit a video of their version of the Best Part of Wakin’ Up™ Jingle between January 30th and February 27, 2017. Musicians are encouraged to make the jingle their own, but are also required to include the complete melody and lyrics of “The Best Part of Wakin’ Up is Folgers in Your Cup.”
Between February 27th and March 19th 5 lucky semi-finalists will be selected to each have a mentor session with Chris Young.
Then, from March 27th to April 24, fans will cast their votes daily for their favorite version of the jingle.
Finally, one winner will be selected in May to win the grand prize of $25,000!
For all the details visit the Folgers Jingle Contest Website.
So if you are an inspiring musician, I encourage you to take this opportunity to enter the Folgers Jingle Contest.
Even if you aren’t entering the contest yourself, remember to follow along and vote online for your favorite version of the Folgers jingle.
