        1. It’s easier just to mix the pie filling with the cake mix and bake it. Been doing it for decades and it’s delicious

          1. how can you tell if it’s done? it’s going to be moist, so toothpick test won’t work or will it?

        2. Just fixed this cake with sugar-free cake mix It turned out great just watching some sugar for my hubby Thanks

        3. Dump cakes are the bomb! I’ve made these over the years using different pie fillings, such as peach, apple, blueberry and even blackberry. I’ve even added some pineapple into the apple and cherry. Just drain the juice from the pineapple chunks, and drink it, lol. Just experiment with your favorites!! Yummmmm…..

          1. Oooops!! Forgot one thing….you can even use different cake mixes, like white, yellow, even spice.

        4. I live alone and was wondering can I half this recipe and if yes do I bake it for the same time?

        5. 4 stars
Just made it according to the directions and hopefully it will taste good. The melted butter didn’t cover the entire pan but as was stated…”it will be ok.” Not so sure because it doesn’t look too appetizing with dry cake mix scattered across the top. The pictures don’t show that, only when it’s mixed up in the bowl. This sounds delicious, just disappointing in the end result as I’m serving it to friends with a less than appealing look. Maybe next time I’ll increase the butter to be sure it’s entirely covered?
