Recipe Tips & Variations
- Make sure to pour the blue jello layer gently on top of the cool whip layer so that you don’t disturb it.
- For a healthier option, top your Jello Cups with blueberries and chopped strawberries instead of sprinkles.
- If you are in a hurry use the “speed set method” on the Jello box, this way your layered jello cups with cool whip will set quicker.
- Switch up the colors/flavors to make layered Jello cups for other holidays. Try red and green for Christmas or two shades of red for Valentine’s Day.

Frequently Asked Questions
If you add a layer before the previous layer has enough time to set it can cause the colors to run. To avoid this be sure to let each layer set before adding the next.
For the white layer you can use a mixture of unflavored gelatin and sweetened condensed milk. Combine one packet of gelatin mix with 1 cup of boiling water then stir in 1/2 cup of sweetened condensed milk. Allow it to cool for about 30 minutes before layering it into the cups. - 1 8 oz tub Cool Whip, thawed
- 1 3 oz box Blue Jello
- boiling water and cold water as per Jello instructions

Instructions
- Prepare the red jello according to the package directions. Divide the jello between your cups and place them in the fridge to chill until the jello has fully set (about 2 hours).

1st layer and cool whip layer were set and cold made blue jello placed in fridge let it get cold poured gently on top of cool whip and after a half min cool whip floated to top of blue jello. What went wrong? Disappointed poured off blue tried again 1/2 hr later same flip flop
Oh no! When this happens it typically means that either the Cool Whip didn’t chill long enough, the blue jello didn’t cool enough, or the Cool Whip layer wasn’t smooth and solid (allowing the jello to seep under it).
That color of blue is gross.
